HELIXIS is an audio reactive sculpture that explores harmony between form, light & sound. The helix is a fundamental phenomena of nature, the sculpture is a reverent delineation of the form. Comprising of 30 illuminate vectors, rotating 360 degrees in a volumetric array , a 2D plane of pixels is twisted into a 3D construct, where the X and Z axis become intertwined within the form. This initial version was commissioned for the inaugural Soft Centre Festival in Sydney, held at the Casula Powerhouse.
A huge thank you goes to Andrew Cherry, Leon Yuhanov (Wow Electron), Llyod Marsden, Mark Egan (EGO) & Ella Collins. Without whose knowledge, assistance, help and hands this project could not have been realised.
